Airspace World 2026: SkAI and roster discussions

At Airspace World 2026 in Lisbon, the SkyRoster team met ATM professionals to discuss staffing, shared rosters and the work involved in changing their planning process.

Exploring Community Edition

The event presentation introduced Community Edition as a way to explore selected capabilities through a free self-hosted deployment. The scope presented included HR management, competency management, leave management and strategic rostering.

The SkAI concept

The team demonstrated SkAI, an AI-assistant concept exploring natural-language queries of rostering information.

SkAI was presented as a concept, separate from SkyRoster’s production constraint-optimisation engine. Availability, scope and security controls need to be confirmed during an evaluation; the demonstration did not establish general production availability or inclusion in a current plan.

Feedback from visitors

Conversations focused on workforce shortages, fatigue-management requirements, operational changes and the effort needed to maintain rosters. Visitors also discussed how to preserve planner control while reducing repeated administration.

These discussions provided input for product planning and future evaluations. The event also gave our team time to exchange ideas and explore Lisbon together.
